Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to develop the suitable organic farming package for rice-blackgram crop sequence. Treatments consisting green manure @6.25 t ha-1+split application of vermicompost @ 4t ha-1 in four equal splits (basal, AT,PI& F) + Panchagavya @ 3% as foliar spray twice (AT & PI) recorded significantly high number of tillers and highest plant height, dry matter production, root length, root volume and root dry weight over rest of the treatments. The recommended practice also recorded relatively, more number of tillers, leaves hill-1, higher plant height, dry matter production, root length, root volume and  root dry weight  which is on par with the aforesaid treatment. Therefore the  application of green manure @6.25 t ha-1+split application of vermicompost @ 4t ha-1 in four equal splits (basal, AT, PI & F) + Panchagavya @ 3% as foliar spray twice (AT & PI) can be recommended for adoption in organic cultivation of rice- black gram crop sequence grown organically.
